Your Morning Cereal – Teen Overcomes Tremendous Odds To Attend Harvard

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raymond Fadel is student at Niagara Falls High School, and will attend Harvard this fall. On the surface this might seem all that unusual. But Raymond has overcome odds that would overwhelm any person.

When he was a freshman, Raymond’s younger brother was shot and killed at the family bar. During his sophomore year, his mother died of alcoholism, and during his senior year, he came home to find his father dead of a rare disease.

Perhaps, the most amazing thing of all – Raymond never missed a day of school through it all.

His scholarship to Harvard is worth $47,000, but he’s homeless and forced to live with friends. But through it all, he is grateful and hasn’t lost his lust for life or hope for the future.
