Savage thought he had a handle autism in America when he offered this statement on his nationally (I really can’t believe it still is) syndicated radio talk show – The Savage Nation.
Here is what he said:
“I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’ “
This latest nonsense is one in a long undistinguished list of absurdity at the hands of Savage. If anyone needs to be dragged through 3 miles of two-week-old pig shit, it’s this guy.
I don’t have that much pig shit handy, so instead, here’s a list of Savage’s sponsors. Two pulled their money last Fall from his show in response to inflamatory Islam comments. Let’s see if we can pick off a few more.
Below are sponsors for Talk Radio Network, who are proud sponsors of Savage’s show. These companies are partly responsible for funding the company that brings us Michael and all of his mindless, fundamentalist, conservative folly.

I’m still waiting for that alleged nude picture of him and his buddy from his college days, in Hawaii, to surface.
E-mail his home station KSGF at the following addresses and demand action…

Mr. Hansen and Mr. Jericho:
On the July 16th edition of the program “The Savage Nation”, the host Michael Savage declared that autism was a fraud. That in 99% of the cases, autism is just a brat whose parents haven’t told them to “cut the act out.”
He goes to say that these children should be told “Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.”
While I know talk show hosts are supposed to have opinions that are of the nature to drive callers to their program, what Mr. Savage did on his July 16th program crosses the line from opinion into deliberate misinformation about autism and the families that face this issue every day. Hundreds of Ozarks families have children with autism who would love to be able to tell their child to just straighten up and not spend thousands of dollars on therapy and medication and treatments that are not reimbursed by insurance.
This is not some fake illness made up by people who just don’t want to parent their children.
While ideally removal of the show for a period of time would be the best course of action because it would tell Mr. Savage that he should make sure his statements regarding a mental disorder are factual, we recognize that it’s a money making tool for your radio station and therefore the chance of having his show even suspended for one day out of protest is unlikely.
Therefore, I would like to ask that you make a statement on the Vincent David Jericho show (as it is the only locally live political talk show heard weekdays like Mr. Savage) that while you defend the rights of the hosts on your stations to have opinions, that it is not the position of Journal Broadcast Group that autism is a fraud, that 99% of the parents of autistic children are not bad parents neglecting their duty to their children and that in this case what Mr. Savage shared on his program is not true.
I know that the hundreds of Ozark families that a dealing with autism every day would appreciate you standing up for what’s right and stating on your airwaves that Mr. Savage’s assertion children with autism are idiots is not acceptable on your airwaves.

Savage really must be throttled once and for all. The guy is out of control stupid. It just goes to show they’ll slap a PhD on anybody, regardless of knowledge or even I.Q. I guess. By the way, he issued a statement on his websitesaying that he has no intentions of retracting the remarks. Typical conservative, and a ‘tool’ of montrous proportions..
